I agree absolutely. Living right here near DC and being a victim of the present USCIS mess, I still did not know about this campaign until a family member from India mentioned about it after reading it in the local newspaper.

I received an email on 8-8 saying card production ordered and on 8-9 about the welcome kit.
My PD is April 2 2004 EB2 (US educated for the idiot who tried to divide us b/w US and non US educated)
As a token of appreciation - I have contributed $100 to IV just now.Receipt ID: 1467-8132-5592-9911. Request all of those who get GC this month to contribute some $ amount. Although I was not very active in the forums I have contributed at least $400 to this cause and I will do the same in the future. I do not think anyone should doubt the hard work and sincerity of illegal immigrants - be they mexican or any other nationality. All these folks come to USA seeking a better life. It is a fact that politicians have used illegal immigration to their advantage - how it suits them at a particular point in time. SO I do respect the hard working nature and contribution of illegal immigration.
However you will have to appreciate that the government's policy of grouping legal and illegal immigrants in any legistative decision has proven to be a nightmare for the legal immigrants. You will also appreciate that issues and circumstances surrounding legal immigrants are substantially different from illegal immigrant issues. However legal immigrants have to face the brunt of retrogression and other processing delays due to:
1) A nonsensical approach of first letting illegal immigrants to work here, not giving them their rights for long years or enforcing the laws to deport them and then suddenly legalizing the illegals, without improving INS/DHS processes or infrastructure/Visa quotas.
2) Prospects of another huge influx of legalization which as we all know, the INS is not capable of processing with its existing operational capabilities.
I am hopeful that whatever law emerges in the next year or two should handle illegal and legal issues separately. As far as xenophobia towards hispanics, everybody has their own view, so you cannot unfairly generalize that Indians have this racism towards mexican illegals. Personally, I do not have a problem with people expressing their ethnic identity, but as we know everybody need not think like us and everybody is entitled to an opinion.

It takes 90 days MINIMUM to get EAD? I've heard that it takes at most 90 days to get EAD. Does anyone know?
No it shouldn't take that long... some of my friends got it in 2 weeks couple of months back. First time we should get it soon .. renewal only takes time.... I am not sure how long it will take for us, it dependes on their work load also.

The answer to your question is: Nothing. They may be waiting, because of many reasons like, they are scared, do not care, there are other opportunities, tired of this immigration crap, lack of enough knowledge regarding their rights.
Now, I do not think the onus correcting such mistakes is 100% on the EAD folks' shoulders. I remember reading how slavery ended in this country. Slavery died, not because the black people fought for the abolition of slavery; slavery ended when the white man realized that slavery is wrong.
Based on the same logic, I would say that the job of stopping discrimination against EAD/H1B etc. is mainly the responsibility of Citizens and GC holders. It is their country; it is up to them to fix it.
My question is -
what are these "1000s of folks" doing? Are they waiting for someone else to work for their cause?
If they believe they were wronged, they need to take action. Without any action, nothing is going to happen.
And, yes, these is discrimination on the both side of the lines. Have you looked at the hiring practices of leading desi outsourcing/consulting companies in the US?

With this issue of priority date taking a back seat to notice date when dates are current :
While it is frustrating to the people with older priority dates (including me); it could very well be that USCIS is approving people with later priority dates sooner because its simply easier for them to do so. I really hope that this trend does not last beyond Aug-Sep. And in October, for EB2 - I, there is still a good likelihood that for people with priority dates < 2004, dates may still be current. So they can very well be approved from Oct onwards. So if I have to sacrifice a few months of waiting time to make sure visa numbers dont go wasted. I am prepared to do so.
Also it is very likely that people with older priority dates have a longer history in the US. So USCIS might need more time correlating all entry/exit time stamps, making sure we were in status all this while; but a person with 2006 priority date might have entered the US in 2005 & so less history to check.
Also there is the case where later priority dates were using PERM. since PERM was made to be less abusive than the previous LC process, maybe they take less time cross checking LC data.

On aug 9 th, USCIS nebraska center issued a total of 4063 receipt nos for 485, EAD, and APs.

From this, if we assume ~4000/day, it ll take 20 working days to clear july 2nd filers (~80,000). My guess is by 31st Aug.

Yes, case was originally filed at NSC on July 2nd and on august 24th it got transferred to TSC.
Does the transfer matter here, because dingudi's case is not a transfer case and he's still waiting...
I am in the same boat. 485 filed at NSC on July 12, sent to TSC on September 7th. EAD/AP filed on Aug 9 at NSC and they are still in NSC.
I have AP approved and EAD pending. No FP notice yet either. Its been more than 45 days since opening a SR for that for both me and my wife. System sucks. I have been to the local ASC 3 times with no results.
Again I am not sure if the fact that my 485 is in TX and EAD/AP is in NE is cauing all the problems.
