My current employer is not willing to provide copy of I-140. I got EAD in 2nd week of October 2007. Can I change job using AC21 without copy of I-140 from current employer. What are the documents I need to change job using AC 21? Thanks in advance for your replies
Who filed your AOS? Your I-485 filing has to include an approved copy of I-140 and LC. Since I-485 is your filing, you can ask the attorney to give you a full copy of the filing (including I-140 and LC).

I never said I'm doing any community service, I care for my green card, and I am not getting it because of the country cap. That is why country ca is my problem. But if I am able to convince a lawmaker and get something in place, while I get my Green card, thousands others will get it who are in line before me, and obviously people who are after me will move forward in line. May be with your kind of brains and temperament it is hard for you to understand, but it is simple for 60 plus people who are in our Yahoo group...

You seem to project that only you care for the issue of country-limits. I think the better description is, you only care for the removal of country limits till the day you get your green card. Giving a false impression to a few on this forum that temporarily removal of country limits will be easier than permanent removal of country limits is just WRONG.
After IV admin posted for the media interview few days back, I sent them an email expressing my willingness to speak with the press. I spoke with Vivek Wadhwa at length last week about this issue. The other day you spent the entire day answering every question(s) people had. I even told my wife that our good friend is going to take all our worries out pretty soon. EB2 will no longer going accept porting so we will go faster and then guess what you didn't even file the law suit yet....you let us down!!
I have a humble suggestion for you, please concentrate on your work and read some books on ethics and leave the GC processing to CIS.

And guys..lets not fight or critisize each other...initiatives like this are voluntary..if u are convinced, welcome aboard, if not, you are more than welcome to watch it from a distance.
Everyone here is mature enough to know what is right and wrong for them and we should respect it regardless of whether they are in favor of this initiative or not...
For now..we are moving forward...and that's what counts at the end of the day.

Personally, I think I'm beginning to see the shift in attitudes of young Indians now visiting the U.S. - of course, many will be tempted to stay in due course, and most of us here do truly appreciate what this country has to offer.
The point I'm trying to make is the comparative state of the nations (both India and the United States), their respective economies, consumer confidence and hopes of their people, is in fact changing mindsets.
There's no denying that this major shift is well on its way. It's no co-incidence that every single Indian I talked to in the last 2 weeks (temporarily here for education/work/whatever... ) immediately ruled out the idea of making the U.S. their home long-term, or even in the medium/short-term.
In stark contrast, though, the H1B visas do get used up within hours of the visa lottery being opened... but I wouldn't assume all of those wanting to work here for some time on a H1B visa will want to stay back.
Again, I don't have statistics to back up the theory - just anecdotal evidence, with a sampling far too small and based on my own personal experience and conversations...

Give them a year or two more, when they have become comfortable with the american lifestyle and facilities we now take for granted (driving on freeways, easy access to libraries, parks to go for a run etc), and they will be probably singing a different tune.

I took up running 6 years ago primarily as i was trying to quit smoking, and also, there was a great running track right outside my house (obviously, free for anyone to use). Then I went to Mumbai last year and decided to go for a run, five minutes into the run and i was being chased by 2 dogs (and i don't mean the cops :p). The point i am trying to make here is. There are things in this country that we start taking for granted. lets appreciate it!
Another tip i would suggest to keep your mind occupied is to learn a foreign language. Invest in an Ipod if you do not have one already. Download free podcasts thet teach french,spanish, german etc. Listen to it while running. You are doing two things at the same time, staying fit and learning.
maybe we can have an IV 5K run sometime in the spring if things do not change. just a suggestion..

You are turning a blind eye to his family, while also asking him to spend time with his family. You ask him to spend what he can on his treatment, while his insurance cover may go away if he quits his job and return to fiji/india.
There is no easy answer here.
But if he had his GC, he could spend all the time with his family, use his insurance cover at the same time, and not worry about his family going out of status.
He COULD try to expedite the GC, while also exploring other options.

Your strategy is to go against her own bill to recapture greencards that she introduced for us last year.
I think this is wrong.
Recapture is a good option if you want to do it right. Otherwise all ROW will oppose you. How are you different than the guys who open threads against Telgus or EB3 vs EB2 or against Muslims.
What you are doing is only dividng the community. My collegues who are also IV members are upset reading that someone in IV is pursuing a one point agenda against ROW. We need to stop and think. A lot of ROW are quiet members on IV forum and they will be upset.
Country caps can only be supported if there is recapture or increase in visa numbers.

This is a law violation and I have URL for it. In fact, the law also says that there is a 10% quota for each month.
As I have posted earlier there are other issues. Thus, this is another issue and not the whole issue.
Pursuing this issue and violations of name checking does not get us much. They can cancel some GCs issued but still not accept July AOSs.
We need to concentrate on issues that support accepting July AOSs.

I was thinking , that maybe , because there are so many of us who have not received FP notices, should probably send a fax or e-mail to ombudsman as a group listing our receipt numbers or maybe just names and tell them the inconsistencies from their side in issuing the FP notices.
I have a good feeling that if the letter/email or fax goes as a group , then they may take some action.
Just a idea , any inputs would be appreciated.

First step is to collect details ( Name, E-mail and Ph No# )
Please send them MAN-WOMAN-GC ASAP . He has gracefully offered to maintain a spreadhseet.
Once we reach the number of resources, we will have conference calls, meet in person whoever can, arrange for money, decide on lawyers ( which MadhuVJ has some very good suggestions ) and move on from there
We are doing it brothers and sisters.
